An der Philosophischen Fakultät der Universität zu Köln ist zum nächstmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine W2-Professur für Transregional Museum and Heritage Studies zu besetzen.

IHRE AUFGABEN
Der Stelleninhaber bzw. die Stelleninhaberin entwickelt das Forschungsfeld Transregional Museum and Heritage Studies an der Universität zu Köln im Austausch mit bestehenden Forschungsschwerpunkten im Themenbereich Museum and Heritage Studies. Mit der Professur ist die Entwicklung und Leitung eines interdisziplinären M.A. Studiengangs Transregional Museum and Heritage Studies verbunden. Die aktive Mitgestaltung aktueller Debatten und Forschungsinitiativen im Sinne der public humanities wird erwartet. Eine Mitarbeit am Global South Studies Center der Philosophischen Fakultät wird vorausgesetzt, die Konzeption einschlägiger Forschungsprojekte sowie die regionale, überregionale und internationale Kooperation mit Museen und Sammlungen wird erwartet. Erwünscht ist der systematische Ausbau nationaler und internationaler wissenschaftlicher Kooperationen und eine forschungsbasierte Zusammenarbeit mit internationalen Organisationen im Bereich des Kulturerbeschutzes.


IHR PROFIL
Zur Besetzung dieser Schnittstellenprofessur wird eine international ausgewiesene Wissenschaftler*innenpersönlichkeit gesucht, die in Forschung und Lehre eine Brücke zwischen den bereits bestehenden Forschungsschwerpunkten im Themenbereich Museum and Heritage Studies an der UzK schlagen kann und einen im Bereich der postkolonialen Theoriebildung und globalen Verflechtungsgeschichte akzentuierten Forschungsschwerpunkt vorweist. Erfahrungen im Bereich der Drittmittelakquise und erfolgreich durchgeführte Kooperationen im Bereich der Sammlungsforschung und/oder Ausstellungsgestaltung und Wissensvermittlung werden vorausgesetzt. Weiter vorausgesetzt werden methodische Kompetenzen, insbesondere in qualitativen empirischen Methoden.

Professorship in Transregional Museum and Heritage Studies (W2) (f/m/d)

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Cologne advertises a senior professorship (W2) in Transregional Museum and Heritage Studies.

YOUR TASKS
The successful candidate develops the field of Transregional Museum and Heritage Studies in cooperation with existing institutions and projects at the University of Cologne. He or she will design and coordinate a new interdisciplinary M.A. degree “Transregional Museum and Heritage Studies”. Cooperation with the Global South Study Center of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities is a requirement. The candidate is expected to implement third-party research projects and engage with joint research activities of the Faculty. He or she cooperates with museums and collections at a regional, national and international level. The ideal candidate will extend the range of national and international research collaborations, including with institutions focussed on the conservation and protection of heritage. He or she contributes to public debates and research initiatives in Museum and Heritage Studies.

YOUR PROFILE
We are seeking an internationally recognized academic personality who demonstrates an ability to channel on-going research and teaching initiatives at the University of Cologne in the field of Museum and Heritage Studies.
The research profile of the successful candidate combines Museum and Heritage Studies with postcolonial theories and perspectives of entangled history, developed from the global south. The successful candidate has competence in qualitative empirical methods. He or she has expertise in the acquisition of third party funding and demonstrates successful cooperation with collections, exhibition halls and/or outreach initiatives.
