“Cultural and Religious Diversity under State Law across Europe” (CUREDI)

 

Background and objectives
CUREDI is a digital repository of cases – with a focus on case law analysis – that have to do with cultural and religious diversity and that show if, how, and to what extent diversity is granted legal recognition within the domestic legal systems of member states of the EU, UK, and Switzerland. Tasks and responsibilities

  • coordination of the work process and the assignment of tasks to internal and external CUREDI contributors
  • content review of project contributions and integration of the project results in the CUREDI collective internal platform (CIP)
  • monitoring of the project progress, including the milestones and deliverables set for internal and external CUREDI contributors
  • assisting with the acquisition of new contributors to the project and maintaining communication networks with internal and external project partners
  • supporting applications for third-party funding for the project, in close cooperation with the project leader (planning, drafting applications, administration and reporting)
  • conceptual and organizational preparation and follow-up of editorial board meetings, workshops and conferences
  • project presentation at national and international conferences and workshops 
  • internal budgeting in accordance with the financial plan
  • assisting with the development of instruments and strategies for public relations and technology transfer
  • assisting with the planning and organization of trainings of judges in the framework of the European Judicial Training Network

 

Your Profile

  • successful completed academic degree (Staatsexamen, Master or equivalent) in Law, Humanities or Social Sciences and preferably PhD degree
  • acquaintance with legal reasoning and serious interest in law & diversity issues
  • professional experience in the coordination of scientific projects
  • strong teamwork, communication and organizational skills
  • language skills: evidence of very good command of written and spoken English (level C2 according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages); basic German skills are essential as the work place is in Germany; another European language would be beneficial, but is not a necessity 
  • experience with proofreading of academic texts
  • confident handling with Microsoft Office, academic reference software (such as Endnote) as well as Adobe software

 

Our Offer

The position is preferably to start no later than 1 April 2023. It is time-limited and will initially run until 30 June 2024. Employment will be on a full-time contractual basis. Remuneration is in accordance with the Collective Wage Agreement for the Civil Service (TVöD, level E13).


The workplace is Halle (Saale), which is a dynamic, green as well as historical city in central Germany and home to numerous renowned universities and scientific institutions.
Our modern campus is in a quiet neighbourhood near the centre of town.
