The "Network for Sustainable Research Structures for the Processing of Collections from Colonial Contexts" deals with questions of digital consolidation, processing and visibility as well as possibilities of use of digital materials and data from colonial contexts.

Networking

  • Bringing national and international actors into discussion who need, create or sustain digital access to materials and data from colonial contexts
  • Better coordination and networking of projects in the various disciplinary and institutional fields
  • Better anchoring and integrating international cooperation and perspectives in project planning

Technical development

  • Identifying cross-domain needs and develop solutions
  • Avoiding isolated solutions, improving sustainability, ensuring respectful handling of sensitive data while maintaining transparency
  • Communication and agreement on standards (norm data, thesauri)

Visibility

  • Publicly articulating and representing the needs of the people and institutions involved in the network
