Hierfür wird Agnieszka Pasieka eine Sneak Preview auf ihr Buch “Living Right: Far-Right Youth Activists in Contemporary Europe” geben.

Zum Format: So wie im Resonanzraum eines Musikinstruments Klänge in Schwingung geraten und durch Resonanz verstärkt werden, soll dieser digitale Resonanzraum einen Ort bieten, wo wir gemeinsam laufende und rezente Forschungen und Buchprojekte diskutieren, die noch nicht das Licht der Fachöffentlichkeit erblickt haben.
Zum Buch: Das Buch “Living Right: Far-Right Youth Activists in Contemporary Europe” wird Ende des Jahres bei Princeton University Press erscheinen. Aus der Ankündigung:
In this eye-opening book, Agnieszka Pasieka draws on her own sometimes harrowing fieldwork among Italian, Polish, and Hungarian militant youths, painting unforgettable portraits of students, laborers, entrepreneurs, musicians, and activists from well-off middle class backgrounds who have all found a nurturing home in the far right. Providing an in-depth account of radical nationalist communities and networks that are taking root across Europe, she shows how the simultaneous orientation of these groups toward the local and the transnational is a key to their success. With a focus on far-right morality that challenges commonly held ideas about the right, Pasieka describes how far-right movements afford opportunities to the young to be active members of tightly bonded comradeships while sharing in a broader project with global ramifications.
Zur Autorin: Agnieszka Pasieka is a sociocultural anthropologist, author of "Hierarchy and Pluralism: Living Religious Difference in Catholic Poland" (Palgrave 2015), the forthcoming book "Living Right: Far-Right Youth Activists in Contemporary Europe" (Princeton 2024), as well as numerous journal publications on religious pluralism, religious and ethnic minorities, multiculturalism, postsocialist transformation, and, most recently, far-right movements, transnational nationalism and fascism. Her new project tackles the problem of far-right environmental politics. She is currently a research fellow at Yale University, and in the next academic year, she will join the Department of Anthropology at the University of Montréal.
