Description

Research Associate (Postdoc) in Anthropology § 28 Subsection 2 HmbHG

Specific Duties

The main task will be providing a contribution to the newly established research focus "Phenomenological Anthropology". To this end, the research associate will conduct independent ethnographic research, publish on it, and collaborate within the team on conceptual and comparative issues. Additionally, teaching activities in the Bachelor and Master program (5 LVS), and tasks within the joint organization of events will be a part of the assignment.

Requirements

A university degree in a relevant subject plus doctorate.

A very good PhD degree in sociocultural anthropology, extensive fieldwork experience, and publications in anthropological journals are required. In addition, knowledge in one of the following areas is expected: psychological anthropology, affect and emotion studies, phenomenological anthropology. Moreover, an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with philosophy would be desirable.
