Decolonizing Anthropology

Starting 26 October 2023, with an opening session by the coordinating team.

This lecture series is a collaborative weekly event organised by departments of Social and Cultural Anthropology (Ethnologie) in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Each session is curated by a different department / institute and features talks, discussion rounds as well as a film screening.

The film "Measures of Men" (D 2023, 116', German with English subtitles) will be made available via screening link during the course of appox. two weeks prior to a Q&A/podium discussion with the director Lars Kraume and other speakers on 9 November 2023.

The blog will be launched next week.

Apart from texts, the blog will also feature accompanying literature, discussion questions for each topic as well as the recorded talk (where available).

The lecture series will run throughout the winter term (26 Oct 2023 – 1 Feb 2024) on Thursdays, 6–8pm CET, on Webex. It will continue in the summer term 2024 with more talks and presentations.
