IV International REPROMOB Conference
“Reproductive Governance and Mobilities in Europe and Latin America: Questioning Justice and Reproductive Rights in a Context of Austerity and Fertility Decline”
which will take place from 9-11th of June 2025 in Barcelona and Bellaterra, Spain.
Attached, you will find the poster with information on the thematic lines. Panel sessions will be held exclusively in person, while keynote lectures and roundtables will be accessible remotely. In both cases, participation is free but requires prior registration.

In an era marked by economic austerity and declining fertility rates, the landscape of reproductive justice and rights is undergoing profound transformations across Europe and Latin America.
This international conference aims to explore the intricate dynamics of national and international reproductive governance. It will also analyse internal and cross-border mobilities with a focus on relevant issues related to the impact of austerity measures on reproductive justice and rights.
Key topics addressed include:
- The consequences of governmental policies on access to reproductive healthcare and services.
- Cross-border (non-)reproductive care and its implications for reproductive justice and rights.
- The role of medical and non-medical mobilities in shaping reproductive futures.
- Reproductive cross-border mobility of people, technologies, bio-products, expertise, and finance. Intersectional reproductive experiences of gender, race, disability, age, and class.
- The influence of nation-state policies on mobility and reproductive justice and rights.
- Reproductive politics and governance in Europe and Latin America, and the cases that challenge them.
- Reproductive activism and its role in advocating for reproductive rights and equitable reproductive justice.

Since the conference is funded by various institutions, there is no registration fee. However, registration is compulsory and we kindly ask participants to confirm their attendance later on. Deadline for proposal submissions: 10th of January 2025
Accepted languages: Spanish, English, Catalan, and Portuguese (for a specific panel)
