The Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology in the Faculty of History and Philosophy at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a
Doctoral Research Associate
Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in
(salary level TV-L E 13, 65%)
commencing on 01 January 2024. We are offering a fixed-term part-time position (65% FTE) for 3 years. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.
Your tasks:
- Participation in research and teaching (English language)
- Subject-specific course supervision
- Organization of events
- Academic advising and administration for students
This position is tied to working towards a doctorate.
Our expectations:
Required
- MA in social and cultural anthropology or a related discipline
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Demonstrated experience in ethnographic methods and empirical research
- Ability to work in a team, good communication skills, strong organizational skills and an independent working style
Desirable
- Teaching experience
- Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia, Tetum or another Southeast Asian language
- Experience in public anthropology or blog support
- German language skills

zu besetzen. Angeboten wird eine für 3 Jahre befristete Teilzeitstelle (65%). Die Lehrverpflichtung beträgt bei Vollzeit 4 SWS.
Ihre Aufgaben:
- Mit der Stelle ist die Durchführung eines Promotionsvorhabens verbunden
- die Mitwirkung in Forschung und Lehre (englischsprachig)
- fachspezifische Lehrveranstaltungsbetreuung
- Organisation von Veranstaltungen
- Studienberatung und -administration
Unsere Erwartungen:
- Ein wissenschaftlicher Hochschulabschluss in Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie/Ethnologie oder verwandten Disziplinen (Universitätsabschluss: Diplom und / oder Master) ist erforderlich.
- gute Beherrschung der englischen Sprache in Wort und Schrift
- Nachgewiesene Erfahrung in ethnographischen Methoden und empirischer Forschung
- Teamfähigkeit, Kommunikationsfähigkeit, Organisationstalent, selbständige Arbeitsweise
Erwünscht
- Lehrerfahrung
- Kenntnisse in Bahasa Indonesia, Tetum, oder einer weiteren südostasiatischen Sprache
- Erfahrung in Public Anthropology oder Blogbetreuung
- Deutschkenntnisse
