We Seek:

In the Faculty I: School of Arts and Humanities , SFB Medien der Kooperation, we are looking for a researcher as soon as possible at the following conditions:

  • 65% = 25,89 hours    
  • Pay grade 13 TV-L  
  • limited until bis 31.12.2027

The SFB 1187 is an interdisciplinary research network consisting of 15 projects and more than 60 scientists from media studies, science and technology studies, ethnology, sociology, linguistics and literary studies, computer science and medicine as well as history, education and engineering. It has been funded by the DFG since 2016. Research focuses on the study of digitally networked media and their practices.

The position is located in the sub-project Bicycle Media. Cooperative Media of Mobility. The project uses audiovisual and ethnographic methods to research media practices related to cycling and cooperates with mobility activists and civil society initiatives on the issue of mobility justice.

Your tasks:

  • Research in the project Bicycle Media. Cooperative media of mobility
  • Conduct cooperative field research with bicycle collectives.
  • Organization of scientific events within the framework of the subproject
  • Participation in cooperative measures of public relations, e.g. with scientists and civil society
  • Publications and lectures

Your profile:

  • Completed very good degree preferably in the field of cultural and social science, media studies, geography or anthropology/ethnology
  • expertise in the research field of the SFB
  • Teamwork and communication skills
  • Very good command of English
  • Willingness to participate in the interdisciplinary activities of the SFB and to contribute to their content
  • Willingness to participate in public relations efforts
  • Willingness to research cooperatively with mobility activists
  • Interest in sustainable mobility and climate justice
