We are excited to announce the
CALL FOR ENTRIES for the 20th edition of FREIBURGER FILMFORUM - FESTIVAL OF TRANSCULTURAL CINEMA
The upcoming edition of FREIBURGER FILMFORUM will take place from the 11th to the 21st of May, 2023 as a hybrid event. For its 2023 edition, the festival welcomes submissions for its STUDENTS' PLATFORM (debut / student works) and a focus program on FILMING FUTURES (films and multi-modal projects tackling future(s)).
The STUDENTS' PLATFORM calls for debut and student works by aspiring filmmakers, media artists and visual anthropologists. There are no restrictions in terms of content or form. Fictional, experimental, documentary films and other multimodal projects are welcome. What matters is the film's intent to listen and observe closely, the filmmaker's sensitive engagement with its protagonists and subjects as well as its originality in terms of content and form.

Additionally, the festival welcomes submissions for its special program on FILMING FUTURES. Together with our partners Emergent Futures CoLab, we are co-curating a line-up of films and multimodal outputs that are speculating and rethinking the future(s) from various perspectives. In this category we are looking for films and audio, visual and digital outputs that deal with futures, utopian/dystopian imaginations, our understandings of time and related topics.
