2nd International Summer School in Uganda

GESIS and the Muteesa I Royal University are excited to invite applications for the 2nd International Summer School in Uganda: Survey Methodology and Data Management (ISSU) to be held from 01-12 February 2021 in Masaka/Uganda.

Beschreibung

The Summer School is funded by the VW Foundation and jointly organized by GESIS ? Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, Germany, and Muteesa I Royal University, Uganda. It will bring together 50 participants from Germany, Uganda, and Kenya.

The Summer School seeks to provide participants with an intense training in social science research methods as well as to foster international research collaboration and intercultural exchange. Over the course of two weeks, the International Summer School in Uganda offers four one-week courses on social science research methods taught by internationally renowned scholars. Participants can choose from one of two courses per week.

Week 1 (01-05 February 2021)

  • Introduction to Survey Design
  • Research Data Management

Week 2 (08-12 February 2021)

  • Introduction to Data Analysis Using R
  • Cross-Cultural Survey Research

Individual researchers and PhD students from Germany, Uganda, and Kenya may apply for a scholarship to participate in the International Summer School in Uganda. Scholarships cover travel costs, accommodation, and course fees. For more information, please see the calls for applications on the ISSU website.
