Beschreibung

The Jean Rouch International Film Festival is one of the most important documentary film events in Europe. Founded in 1982 by the filmmaker and anthropologist Jean Rouch (1917-2004), it is held annually in November in Paris. Over a period of 3 weeks, it screens more than 70 documentary films, showcased in the international competition or in thematic programs. All screenings and events are free of charge.

Registration requirements (submission deadline 15th April 2020)

  1. Films completed after January 1st 2019
  2. There is no screening fee for the films selected for the Competition Programme
  3. No film may be withdrawn from the festival programme after its selection
  4. Each filmmaker may submit only one film
  5. Films which have been submitted in previous years are not eligible
  6. Preview format : online secure screener (e.g Vimeo) of the entire film. Trailers are not allowed
  7. A copy of each selected film will be kept by the Comité du Film Ethnographique, as part of the Festival archive and for internal purposes
  8. The results of the selection will be announced in early July 2020, on our website homepage: http://comitedufilmethnographique.com/.
  9. No personal letters will be sent to filmmakers/producers whose films are not selected.
