Die nächste Tagung der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie mit dem Titel „Welten. Zonen. Atmosphären. Seismographien des Anthropozäns“ findet vom 27. bis 30. September 2021 an der Universität Bremen statt. Im April 2021 wird die neue Tagungshomepage online sein. Dann beginnt auch die Registrierung für die Teilnahme an der Tagung.
Der Einsendeschluss für den Call for Papers und den Call for Films ist der 15.02.2021.
Tagungsteilnehmer*innen sind eingeladen, mit ihren Beiträgen die Erschütterungen dieses neuen geologischen Zeitalters mit der seismographischen Genauigkeit der Ethnograph*innen zu dokumentieren. Dabei dient die Seismographie – eigentlich eine naturwissenschaftliche Methode zur Aufzeichnung von Bodenbewegungen – als Metapher, die auf die Sichtbarmachung und Wahrnehmbarkeit von schwer fassbaren, „unterirdischen“ oder verdrängten, Zusammenhängen und Erschütterungen zielt. Im Anthropozän ist die Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie aufgefordert, ihr Sensorium auf belebte und unbelebte Welten auszudehnen und sich in dieser Weise "seismographisch" zu betätigen. Gleichzeitig geht es auch darum, neue Formen des Austauschs und der Kollaboration mit Menschen und mit mehr-als-menschlichen Lebewesen zu finden. In der ethnographischen Beschäftigung mit Aspekten des krisenhaften, prekären Lebens erfahren wir die grundlegende Unsicherheit unserer Seinsweisen. Partizipative und kooperative Feldforschungsmethoden zeugen von dieser Unsicherheit, mit der wir den Anderen begegnen, von dem veränderten Blick, der nicht mehr in erster Linie die ganze Welt einfangen, sondern diverse Erfahrungen und Sichten auf bebende, sehr bewegte Welten aufzeichnen will.
Call for Films
The German Anthropological Association (DGSKA) invites film submissions to be screened during the biannual conference in Bremen. The films will be presented followed by a discussion with the filmmakers. We are inviting films that broadly address the conference theme “Worlds. Zones. Atmospheres. Seismographies of the Anthropocene” through their form or subject matter. More particularly we are inviting films that connect to one of the conference’s main topics:
• Anthropologies of the Anthropocene
• Zones of Extractivism
• Seismography in Times of Crisis
• More-Than-Human Worldmaking
• Crafting Post-Colonial Relations
We accept films of any length and genre that were produced in 2018 or later. Student films and films that were made as part of anthropological or ethnographic research are particularly welcome.
• The films need to be in German or English or with German or English subtitles.
• Submissions should be made until 15th February 2021 via email to gruber(at)uni-bremen.de
• Please include: a synopsis of 250 words maximum, filmmakers’ CVs, as well as information on the shooting location(s), country of production and a streaming-link to the completed film.
• The holder of the copyright of the film authorizes the GAA/DGSKA to screen the film without a screening fee.
• No submission fee required.
• Please indicate if you will be able to attend the screenings either in Bremen or through video call.
